For starters, it’s on the Ground Floor. Wasn’t told this X so we ended up riding the elevator. We wanted to call the front desk , but there are no phones at the elevator landings. We had to walk all of the way back to the Front Desk to ask and find out it was on the ground floor. Then there’s nothing more welcoming like the strong odor of paint to greet you as you exit an elevator. We get to the room, and walk in, and I’ll give it this much, it’s a big room, that being said, so much unused space. Two small closets, and the closet closest to the bathroom- the doors are not on tracks and can be pulled outward while still hanging. The bathroom in comparison to a room this size is quite small, and could use some updating. The handle on the shower came right off when trying to set the temperature. There were no hooks to hang a towel. There was also the sound of what might have been banging pipes every 5 to 20 seconds, and it echoes, so that was great. Luckily we had ear plugs packed with us. The tv, great size, however it is stuck in a Store/display mode that was annoying. I’m also someone who travels with a CPAP, and this property joins a list of many that disappoints in having enough outlets. I had to use the much outdated outlet on the lamp which was loose, keeping in mind that more travelers than not are traveling with such devices so there needs to be a change in how these resources are offered to travelers. That being said, having enough ports to charge devices is also lacking. An uoside if there is one, is the room is located down and across from the Fitness Room. All in all, we didn’t want to stay in Pittsburgh due to recent flooding. We were hoping for a better experience and felt that this Doubletree falls short of Hiltons standards. Unrelated perk , there is a Starbucks right next door to the hotel.

First off I have NEVER given any Hilton property one star so this is indeed a first- place has a really really weird lay out! Had to literally hike to get to our room which was not located at the main lobby area! Room needs some love- bathroom door didn’t close, the heater was wonky and the tub wouldn’t drain! Old coffee pods left in coffee maker and it just didn’t seem clean- ice machines did not work on ALL SIX FLOORS! Breakfast was a joke- we have had better breakfasts at Hamptons and the bench seats in the dining area were gross and pealing leather- I just can’t believe this is a Hilton !!! We stayed here for a wedding and I won’t even go into that… If you are used to Hilton quality please save yourself the aggravation and stay elsewhere

Stayed at Doubletree over Memorial Day Weekend, got a great deal with our Hilton Honors points. The pool was open but was admittedly very cold since it's not heated, but still had a great time with the kids. The room was nice and we had a fun time in the room, ordered pizza from down the road. The location is right next to the Meadows (Hollywood now) Casino, didn't make it there this time but hopefully next time!

We book the Lincoln suite which was located in the basement close the the industrial washing machine and the gym. the smell of bleach was overwhelming. It was very disappointing. We had to switch to another room. The staff at first did not appear to care and the manager on staff laughed about the basement commonment which I though was inappropriate.

The uniqueness of the place is one of the only reasons I gave more than 1 star rating. Please do not get the 2 bedroom rooms. They are on the top floor, and in the summer, they will not cool down. I like the fact that the rooms agave an upstairs separating the living area from the bedrooms, but the rooms and the hallway were 80+ degrees with the A/C set at 61 degrees. There are black marks on the walls, and all of the doors on the top floor are missing paint and rusted. The lower level rooms may be better, but top-level is a no-go. Do not bring luggage through the main level because the carts are on the bottom level, and you have to carry it down the stairs to the elevators. My wife wants to leave immediately, but this was actually the best price we could find for a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. This has been the worst Hilton we have stayed in since a Nashville Doubletree with a lot of dead bugs in the stairwell. If anything changes before I leave, I will update this post.
